Marianna Kang

Marianna Kang is in her second year of piano studies at the University of Auckland, studying with Rae de Lisle. Originally from Hamilton, she has always found incredible joy in playing the piano ever since beginning lessons at the age of six. In 2016, Marianna came second in the Wallace National Junior Piano Competition; in 2017 she competed in the Wallace National Piano Competition and received fourth prize and the SOUNZ Award for the best performance of a piece by a New Zealand composer. She also enjoys playing chamber music and has attended the Adam Summer School in Nelson twice, receiving coaching from Diedre Irons, Jian Liu and the New Zealand String Quartet.
