Michael Li

Michael Li, aged 18, is an aspiring young pianist born in Auckland. He is currently studying the piano at the University of Auckland with Rae de Lisle. Michael has previously studied with Richard Liu and would like to thank him for his mentorship, and for growing his passion for music. Michael is an enthusiast of piano and orchestral music, and enjoys listening to, studying and playing works by composers such as Bach, Schubert and Poulenc. In high school, he was a proud and long-standing member of his school Orchestra, Choir, Concert Band and Musical Production Orchestra. In 2017, Michael attained an A grade in his Cambridge International Advanced Level Examination for Music and in 2018 received a Finalist’s Prize in the Wallace National Junior Piano Competition.
