Carol Wang

Carol started playing
the bassoon from the age of 12 (2007), and she studied under
Professor Zhaolu Liu, Principal Bassoon with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and
Bassoon Professor at Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Since moving from China in 2010 to New Zealand and later to
Australia, Carol has received numerous national and international
accolades for her solo performance, including National First Prize of
Melbourne Recital Centre's Great Romantics Competition 2019 and
National First Prize of Australian Youth Classical Music Competition
2019, Pettman National Junior Academy of Music Scholarship, and
several prizes in the Australian and New Zealand Double Reeds
Competition.
Carol is inspired by the high standard of music making in New Zealand and Australia. After completing her training at the Australian National Academy of
Music (ANAM) in 2019, she will be heading to Vienna Conservatoire (University of Music and Performing Arts,Vienna) starting her Master Degree in 2021.
